JOHN MACMILLAN APPOINTED MANAGER OF BRITISH COLUMBIA CRC TEAM
Wednesday, May 9, 2012 - Submitted by RC Communications
Rugby Canada is pleased to announce the appointment of John MacMillan as the manager of the British Columbia Canadian Rugby Championship Team (CRC).

John started his rugby career with the Pacific Pride program in 1998, where he stayed for seven years. In parallel with Pacific Pride, he was the Assistant Coach for the Canadian team from 2000-2003, including the World Cup in Australia.

“I have been busy with work and family for the last little bit. I have been doing mostly age grade based stuff and now I am excited to be stepping back into the high performance stuff,” stated John.  “It’s our job to try and excite the players and to put forward a program that people will really want to be a part of.”

John’s goal is to have the BC organization be a place where people will take themselves and their rugby seriously. Any interested players that have their focus on rugby should make themselves available to participate in this program.

To ensure that the British Columbia CRC team is successful, John is looking for similarly focused individuals to join the organization.

“We are trying to find like minded people who will put in a solid commitment. They must be willing to commit three hours a day every day”

Over the last couple of years, John has had a chance to work with a number of the young players within British Columbia. Many of these young athletes are now entering their twenties and John will be looking for them to put their hands up and challenge for this program.

“I have met and worked with many of the young players in the province over the last couple of years and there is some good promise here.”

Canadian National Team, Head Coach Kieran Crowley is pleased with John’s commitment to Rugby within British Columbia.

“It is great to see John back involved with elite rugby.” Stated Crowley  “The CRC is essential in the development of national team athletes. It is the pathway to the international arena”

Match Schedule For the British Columbia CRC team will be announced shortly.

John is pleased to hear from anybody interested in being involved with the program and can be contacted at JMacmillan@pacificsport.com
