The Ontario Blues, rebounding from a very narrow 19-17 loss to Chile on Saturday, will face a highly motivated Argentine provincial side Salta Tuesday at the Jockey Club, Salta, 4:00pm local time (3 pm EDT).
The Blues defeated Los Mayuatos 39-17 last year in Oakville, but both teams will be vastly different this time out. The Blues will use most of their squad to manage player performance and stay on track to face Uruguay on Sunday.
“We played well enough to win our first full international against Chile, but we didn’t take our chances” said head coach Chris Silverthorn. “Better discipline, simpler options and continued focus are what we need Tuesday.”
Salta have had a vastly improved season under a new management staff and will clearly have a score to settle. Meanwhile the Blues will look to build on a creditable performance in Santiago.
Salta is in Argentina's far north, bordering on Bolivia and Paraguay.
